The Embroidered Vest — A Summer I Remember

A wearable postcard from an Egyptian summer — every icon hand-embroidered and sequined onto soft grey cotton canvas, finished with blanket stitch around the edges. Evil eyes, hearts, stars, suns, crescent moons, watermelons. Every motif placed by hand. No two vests land the same way.

Grey cotton canvas is the right base for this kind of work — it holds the embroidery flat without distortion and lets the sequins catch light without competing with the fabric itself. The grey reads as a neutral, which means the colour in each motif does the work rather than fighting a background colour.

Wear it open over a white shirt, a slip dress, or a plain top. The embroidery is the outfit — everything else stays simple.

Why it takes time

Every motif is sewn and sequined by hand. Each vest takes several days to complete from cut to finish, which is why we make a limited number and don't restock once they're gone.
